I think this ayah is a good reminder for us when we become caught up in achieving goals. We forget that everything is a blessing from Allah and we are completly dependent on Him alone. Even the most basic of needs; water & air we humans could never create yet we would die without them!
Subhanallah, this ayah says so much about how weak we are as humans without Allah we are nothing yet we take so much for granted and constantly forget to thank Allah, this is deafinatly an ayah to think about which is pretty scary
4) We are on the earth and yet would have no access to the water that would be IN the earth. How much more hopeless could be the depiction of the situation?
5) This ayah conveys so much fear and there is NO THREAT in it! It does not say, if you do... we will do this. All it says is, have you considered it? Have you thought about this? But because we know the importance of water, we are left with a still silence, a deep fear.
1) This ayah is so simple and matter of fact, yet it is conveying a wealth of information and warning.
2) The way it refers to the disappearance of the water- being sunken into the earth... if we think about it, if the ayah said the water would evaporate, then the human could start to picture puffy water-bearing clouds and the hope of rain which would bring the earth back a supply of water. But when it says sunken into the earth, suddenly man is left with that thought and nothing else!
3) We know the earth is so deep that we cannot even perceive its depth, let alone reach into it. Can you picture a group of people with parched throats, desperate for water trying to dig to get to water? And for miles they would find dry barren land!
The aayah although appears to be posing a question is in actual fact informing us that no one would be able to bring us flowing water other than Allaah. Here again we are taught by Allaah just how weak we really are and how absolutely dependant we are upon Him. Think about water and what it means to us. Can we do without it? If we had no water, we wouldn't survive; we'd hve nothing to drink, no water to give to our livestock, nothing to water plants and trees with! We'd be doomed to destruction. Th question that begs itself is, how grateful are we to Allaah for just this one gift?
